Wonderland is Cancelled for 2020.
(Yes that is cancelled, not postponed.)
The next Wonderland Run weekend is now planned for August 28/29 2021.

Options for Transfer / Refund of Entries.

While it’s creative, “‘just’ donate my funds to the LostDogsHome” (or similar) is not an option.
Yes, qualification standards will remain as set for the future events listed, and some people will need to run a fresh qualifier. (But you have until quite close to those events to do so.)
No, we don’t have real preference as to which option you select. Spreading the hit over 18months is the goal, and hopefully entrants have varied choices.

Merchandise Options Available.
If you ordered merchandise for pickup these options are available.
- Wait until 2021 to pick it up
- Pick it up in Halls Gap on event weekend. We plan on being in town and will have a couple of times/locations that event merchandise can be picked up.
- Add postage. No great method for this, but order a sticker (lowest cost option) but also pay postage (which you don’t normally have to for a sticker) then email and say you’d like your garment posted. Merch Facility Here.
- Part refund per usual policy of minus 22%.

Be Nice To Halls Gap
Dan’s 6 week lockdown on Melbourne, MornPen and Mitchell residents ends just prior to what was to be Wonderland weekend.
Life is hard to predict right now, but if Melbourne cases are low by then and we resume some freedom of movement then it’s nice to support Vic tourism, but please don't risk trucking virus out to them.

Basics On The Reasons For Cancellation
Yes there’s a pandemic on, which has spiked dramatically and doesn’t look good. But it could look great by event day.
We could cloak ourselves in ‘DoingTheRightThing’, but honestly there are also other reasons for this decision.
Unfortunately many StateGovt authorities have gone to ground and aren’t adapting or communicating much.
While it’s understood that conditions are continually changing, a basic help would be for them to give provisional decisions or permits, ie dependent on, or shaped by Covid conditions at the time. Practical adaptations to the events have been presented in a supplementary document to the authorities, but it needs to be read and responded to in an if/then manner. (If conditions are X you can do X, If they are Y then you can have larger start groups, or whatever.)
Currently it looks like authorities will not say much until the next set of guidance comes out, probably in event week, when the current six-week lock-down time period ends.
This is impractical, as we need to plan for possible adaptations to the events.
It would also leave those entrants wanting to get accommodation funds back if the event is off in a more difficult position. To say nothing of the accommodation providers around Halls Gap.
So Wonderland 2020 is off, and the summary is it’s a mix of Corona, frozen government, and timing that has sadly led to this.
